FIG. 01 The field-to-PDF platform
Inspections,
without the paperwork.
Reportigen turns field work into branded, client-ready PDFs. Build any inspection template, annotate photos with real-world measurements, design your report layout once, and deliver to clients in a click — for roofing, property, facilities, insurance, environmental, construction QA, or any inspection your team performs.

02 The platform
Everything an inspection
needs to leave the field.
Five capabilities that compound. Configure once, then run hundreds of inspections through the same disciplined flow.
-
01
Build any inspection, no code.
Drag-and-drop sections, fields, units, and conditional logic. Tenant-managed dropdown presets adapt the vocabulary to your trade. Every template owns its own form structure — no developers needed to launch a new inspection type.
- Sections, ordered fields, group breaks
- Conditional visibility with fallback values
- Reusable presets per dropdown field
-
02
Annotate photos, with measurements.
An in-browser editor combines polygon-with-measurements plus arrows, callouts, shapes, and freehand — on a single canvas. Every annotation flattens into the PDF and remains editable later.
- Polygon edge measurements in feet
- Arrows, rectangles, circles, freehand, text
- Re-editable JSON + flattened PNG for reports
-
03
Design your PDF, per template.
Each template owns its own report layout. Drag report blocks — cover, field groups, photo grid, location map, signatures, rich text, page breaks — arrange them, theme them, and preview live. Your business name, logo, and contact info pull in automatically.
- Block-based designer with live iframe preview
- Header/footer, theme, and typography panels
- Persisted on the template — never style again
-
04
Cached, instant reports.
Reportigen hashes the inputs to every report and re-renders only when something changes. Re-downloads are instant. Edit one field and the next download is fresh. Choose full-resolution or a lightweight variant for faster emails.
- Content-hashed regeneration
- Full or reduced-size PDF
- Report-sized photo derivatives generated on upload
-
05
Deliver from one place.
Email a finished report directly from the project. Multiple recipients, custom subject and body with
{contact_name}merge, full distribution log. Your clients see a polished PDF with your branding — no login required.- Multi-recipient sends with merge tags
- Persistent distribution history per project
- Default templates per user, full audit trail
03 How it works
Four steps. End to end.
-
01
Define the template
Build the form and design the PDF once. Sections, fields, conditionals, presets, and a per-template layout that pulls your branding automatically.
-
02
Create a project
Pick a template, a client, an address (with Google Places autocomplete), and upload a site cover — a roof plan, floor plan, or aerial.
-
03
Capture & annotate
Fill the auto-saving form, upload photos, annotate with measurements, and drop numbered pins linking each photo to its location on the cover.
-
04
Deliver the report
Preview live, generate the PDF in one click, and email it to your client with custom copy and a logged distribution history.
04 For teams
If you produce a report,
you can run it on Reportigen.
Reportigen wasn’t built for one trade. The form schema, presets, and PDF layout are all configurable per template, so the platform adapts to your checklist — not the other way around.
-
Roofing & envelope
Infrared, low-slope, steep-slope. Section assemblies, moisture mapping, repair plans.
-
Property inspections
Pre-purchase, draw, warranty, move-in/move-out. Photo-led narrative reports.
-
Facilities & maintenance
Asset rounds, deficiency logs, work-order packets with photo-tagged locations.
-
Insurance adjusting
Claim documentation with annotated photos, measurements, and date-stamped pages.
-
Environmental surveys
Site walks, sampling logs, regulatory deliverables with location pins on aerials.
-
Construction QA
Punch lists, draw inspections, mock-up reviews, milestone documentation.
-
Safety & compliance
Routine audits, hazard logs, signed acknowledgements, retained evidence trail.
-
And anything else.
Build a template, design a layout, ship the report. The platform doesn’t care which trade.
05 Inside the workflow
A closer look at the parts that matter.
A template that’s actually your template.
The form builder is database-backed, not file-based. You compose sections and fields visually; the platform stores them, serves them to your inspectors, and renders them into the PDF. Conditional fields hide and fall back automatically when their parent changes. Presets are scoped to your business — add a new dropdown value once and it’s available everywhere that field is used.
- Field typesText, textarea, dropdown, date, number
- ConditionalsHide / fallback rules per field
- PresetsTenant-scoped, inline add/remove
Photos that work as hard as the writing.
The unified editor puts polygons, arrows, callouts, shapes, freehand, and text on the same Fabric.js canvas. Polygon edges show measurements in feet so a coverage estimate or repair extent is captured visually. The editor saves both the editable JSON and a flattened PNG — the JSON keeps future edits non-destructive; the PNG ships directly into reports without runtime rendering.

- MeasurementsPolygon edges in feet

One PDF designer per template. Live preview.
The report layout lives on the template itself. Drag blocks — cover page, field groups, photo grid, location map, signature line, rich text, page break — into the order you want. Theme typography, headers, and footers. Your business name, logo, and contact info pull from your workspace settings, so every PDF stays branded without re-keying.
- BlocksCover, fields, photos, locations, rich text, signature
- PreviewLive, in an iframe, beside the editor
- CacheContent-hash — regenerates only when inputs change
From inspector to client without a context switch.
The distribution tab is your client-facing edge. Email a finished report with merge tags and custom copy, send to multiple recipients, watch the send log build over time. Your clients see a branded PDF in their inbox; they don’t need an account, a portal, or a download link.
- RecipientsMulti-address with merge tags
- HistoryPersistent distribution log per project
- BrandingFrom-name, reply-to, and signature per workspace
06 Why Reportigen
The gap your current tools leave behind.
07 Trust & security
Built like the field demands.
Inspection records often become legal documents. Reportigen treats them like one — with isolation, identity, and an audit trail.
-
a. Workspace isolation
Every business is its own tenant. Data, templates, presets, and uploads stay inside your workspace, scoped at the query layer.
-
b. Identity & roles
Owner / Admin / User. Invite-only onboarding with forced password setup, deactivation, and forced sign-out from the admin tab.
-
c. MFA & sessions
TOTP MFA with recovery codes, JWT access cookies, refresh-token rotation, and replay detection on the server.
-
d. CSRF & rate limits
CSRF tokens, strict Origin checks, and per-IP rate limiting on every state-changing endpoint.
-
e. Audit log
Forty-plus action types recorded for compliance review — logins, permission changes, uploads, deletions, restorations.
-
f. Soft delete & recovery
Projects, inspections, photos, and templates soft-delete with a retention window before scheduled purge — mistakes are recoverable.
-
g. Your domain
Use your subdomain on reportigen.com or bring a verified custom domain. Your name on every URL.
-
h. Versioned legal
Terms and Privacy are versioned and per-user-accepted — you have a paper trail for who agreed to what.
08 Frequently asked
Questions, answered.
Can I use Reportigen for inspections other than roofing?
Yes — the platform is industry-agnostic. The form schema and PDF layout for every template are fully configurable, so the same workspace can serve roof, property, facilities, insurance, environmental, construction, safety, or any other inspection workflow. Roofing comes with a starter template because it’s a common entry point, not because the product is limited to it.
Do my photos and reports stay private to my workspace?
Every business gets its own tenant. Database queries are scoped to your workspace at the platform layer, uploads are stored under your business, and access is gated by role plus session. You can also pull an audit log of who did what at any time.
What does my client see?
A branded PDF attached to an email from your workspace. No login, no portal, no friction. You write the subject and body once; Reportigen merges in their name and sends.
Can I customize the PDF layout?
Yes, per template. The drag-and-drop designer lets you arrange blocks — cover, fields, photo grid, location map, signature, rich text, page break — theme typography, set headers and footers, and preview the result live in an iframe before publishing.
How is sign-in secured?
Username and password with TOTP MFA and recovery codes, JWT access in an httpOnly cookie, refresh-token rotation with replay detection, CSRF tokens on state-changing routes, and strict Origin enforcement. Failed attempts are tracked and rate-limited.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. Every workspace runs on a {name}.reportigen.com subdomain by default. Custom domains can be pointed and verified at any time, so your team and clients see your URL.
